Working Terms
Last updated: 2026
These terms describe the general basis on which Idea to Prototype works with clients and collaborators.
Scope
This practice focuses on early ideas, structured thinking, prototypes, and next-step clarity. It does not include production development, operational support, or long-term implementation unless separately agreed in writing.
Engagements
Work is typically delivered through short, defined engagements. Scope, timing, and fees are clarified before work begins.
Deliverables
Depending on the engagement, deliverables may include working demonstrations, structured notes, documentation, design or interaction concepts, repositories, or recommendations for next steps.
Prototype status
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, prototypes are exploratory tools. They are intended to support evaluation, communication, and decision-making, not production deployment.
Handoff
When useful, work may be handed off to internal teams, external developers, or stakeholder-owned infrastructure. The goal is to enable continued progress without requiring ongoing dependency.
Hosting and third-party services
If a prototype uses hosting, analytics, APIs, or other third-party services, those services may have their own terms and policies. Ongoing operation of hosted prototype systems is outside the standard scope of this work unless separately agreed.
Fees
Fees are defined in advance for each engagement. Unless otherwise agreed, invoices are due according to the terms described at the start of the work.
No warranty / no guarantee
This work is provided in good faith as advisory and prototype support. No guarantee is made that a prototype will be suitable for production use, commercial success, regulatory approval, or any specific business outcome.
Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time. The current version will be posted on this page.
